Gave my form back to crew member, ofter clearly 'Gold for Gold', details of my Gold card on the bottom of the form.
Nothing happened online that I could see, was travelling, got home to find nothing through the post either.
Chased again, thankfully I took a photo of my form before handing it back to the crew member. Emailed the photo.
Now upgraded to Silver and distinctly not impressed. Offer was G for G.
How is best to chase this further? Telephone or emails or?

Apologies, I missed your question.
That's exactly what we do; the beauty is in the flexibility. It helps to have an idea of the climate that you may be heading towards, and where you might want to stay.
Obviously, not very useful if there is a visa requirement.
Wanting to ask the reverse question on this.
Does BA match your VS Au status?? While not wanting to ditch VS, my company is starting to ask a few questions as why I fly in to certain airports and then get an internal onwards and not fly direct. If I can fly direct for a while it may keep the dogs off for another year.......

No, it doesn't tend to work the other way. The exception, I think, being if your employer's regarded by BA as an important customer. But for individuals, no.
As for the poster who's only been given Ag, ISTBC but Au for Au isn't guaranteed and VS will only give you Au if it "likes" you based on your BA flight history and decides you're "worth it" as a prospective customer.

That wasn't the offer that was offered though, it was Gold for Gold (with keyword being 'match'). And this was a proactively offered offer, not based upon any submitted history at all.

Every time I have heard this offer announced on a LR flight over the past few months, it has very clearly been Gold for Gold.
I was on the VS3043 last night and listened closely to the announcement. They say "we are giving BA Ag & Au cardholders the opportunity to be status matched".
The key word being opportunity. That, according to my dictionary, means a chance or a possibility - ie not a guarantee. I'm pretty sure they're selective and not everyone who applies will get status matched.

Opportunity means opportunity - and they are giving you the opportunity then and there - if you have a Gold/Silver card. That is the opportunity occurring and you taking it.
Crew member said it was Gold for Gold.
Phoned up in the evening yesterday, number on website said it was for Flying Club, but it was general call center. But the lady I spoke to said it was Gold for Gold on the LittleRed offer, but strictly BA only, in all the ones she was aware of.
Quite appart from anything else, how would they then decide it with no other data? Everyone else who has done the LR offer that I am aware of has been 'matched' G to G or S to S.
I would suggest that VS needs to spend more effort keeping the Au members it has, rather than sniffing around other carriers' more frequent travellers. I can list at least ten people now who were Au for years who have had enough of VS's indifferent customer care for Au (and other members), myself included.
It's always much cheaper to retain loyalty and a customer than having to get new ones....
