Have just checked my booking for October this year and in MMB it is no longer showing aircraft type, where previously it had shown the A330 for both sectors. Given that we've had the news leaked that VS are introducing the first of their 787s on this route, potentially with a new UC suite to replace the UCDS that many are not happy with, I'm getting excited thinking that I may get to fly in the new plane.

Perhaps once a firm delivery date is given they'll update so I'll keep an eye on it, but am wondering what will happen on / after 25th if there is no plane assigned to that route yet on my dates I'm not going to be able to select seats. :w

Sorry, but I wouldn't get too excited as our August Barbados booking is also no longer showing aircraft type, where as it was previously showing a 747.

Aww shucks don't shatter my illusions. Mind, the new 787 is supposed to be deployed in October on the BOS route, so I just might be lucky...

My dc booking isn't showing an aircraft either, but I've been told by the "crew" it could be the 787. I'm hoping, just like you!

Fingers crossed for you Bretty y)

I suspect as we get closer to October, speculation will increase and many a V Flyer's hopes and dreams will be raised, only to be subsequently shattered. My only hope is that the 787 is an improvement on the awful 330 layout.

I suspect this is a ploy by Virgin.

Remove the aircraft from the MMB then on 25th June the system won't crash as hoards try to reserve seats. IT at it's best, break one bit to prevent the whole thing failing.

Never thought of that marshy, you could be right. I suspect buns has a point too, but fingers crossed. That said, I haven't flown in a 330 yet. Also my booking for NRT in April next is showing aircraft type.

My VS1 in September isn't showing an aircraft either. Maybe we're all getting a 787 but somehow I doubt it - I'll go with marshy's idea that it's an IT ploy to prevent meltdown on 25 June.

The first aircraft is deployed on the vs11 at the end of October.
