Looks like the introduction of the new "paid" seating system has been suspended for further testing. A couple of posts on other sites seem to suggest that VS live chat has confirmed this and there will be an update on the website later.

Ha ha, shocking ):

What would be a nice surprise is if when they finally decide on a revised release date the entire website is completely replaced with one that doesn't drive people potty. Oh look, there go another flock of flying pigs...

For some reason there is a phrase about couldn't organise something or other in a brewery which is coming to mind.

My interaction with Live Chat was somewhat different though:

Annie: Hi, you're chatting with Annie. How can I help you?

Annie: Hi Jon!

Annie: I hope you are looking forward to your flights with us!

Jon: hi Annie, yes I am as I always do, are you watching the world cup ?

Annie: No, I am working today. I don't follow it to be honest :)

Annie: How can I help you today?

Jon: so, can you confirm that for my upcoming flight in November in PE to Las Vegas I will be able to book seats on June 25 - there are rumours all over social media and the web that this date will slip again

Annie: Let me just check that for you, are you ok to wait for a moment?

Jon: yes

Annie: Thanks for waiting, I've got some information for you...

Annie: You can book the morning of the 25th of June (around 8am).

Jon: ok, thanks

I would guess that T60 still works. If T60 falls on 25 June then I would assume you will still be fine. Probably, if the truth be known, you will have less hassle than if the whole of VFlyer were trying to book their non T60 seats! :D

I just did live Chat too.. My response is different!

Jayne : Hi, you're chatting with Jayne . How can I help you?
Jo: Hi Jayne, I just wanted to check, I have a flight in October, will I still be able to select seats on 25th of June or has this changed
Jo: I heard the new seating plan date 25th June was under review
Jayne : Hi Jo! I hope you're well today! Oh okay I see, I am afraid we have again recently updated our seating policy and as you are travelling in October with us, you will only be able to pre-request your seating 60 days before your departure date of travel.

The seat request info has been updated to say:

Restrictions to seat requests
Published 17/12/2007 01.26 PM | Updated 17/06/2014 04.47 PM

You can assign seats 60 days before departure, free of charge. Seats can be assigned through Manage Flights which is available up to 24 hours before departure. To request seats before check in opens, please go to Manage Flights.

but then it says:

Advanced seat assignment
Published 21/11/2013 02.44 PM | Updated 31/03/2014 11.03 AM
Will I need to pay to choose my seats in advance?

• If you are in Upper Class, Premium Economy or Economy booked in Y or B Class you can choose your seat free of charge. From 25 June 2014 you will be able to do this any time from making your booking. Corporate passengers using their current deal code can also select their seats in advance for free and Flying Club Gold members have free access to standard seats for all their party (within the same booking) and exit row seats or extra legroom seats for themselves.

So, Im in PE, not sure if I'm being a bit thick ?| , can I choose seats on 25th June or at 60 days?? I'm off to Las Vegas tomorrow, if I can't request seats on the 25th I'll leave my Ipad at home?

60 days. There was never a snowball's chance in hell of the clowns that allegedly manage the IT system getting this organized for June 25. However, as anyone knows with Virgin IT they might just do it. Either way a total fiasco. Thankfully the on-board product is the best.

Yes. Although frankly the longer T-60 remains the better, as far as I'm concerned.

The only people who'll benefit from the new system are those fortunate enough to be able to book at T-336. Which isn't that many I'd guess. Everyone who books between T-335 and T-61 will be in a worse position than they are now.

Given they gave almost 3 months' notice of the June 25th date, I assume it's been
pushed back until at least September. If it happens at all ....
