Decided to try out the alliance with a Delta JFK to SFO Business flight.
The lounge at T4 JFK is tasteful and big, and well done, but... be prepared for a massive shock for refreshments. Its pretty dreadful. Pay $3000 for that business ticket? well, a cooked egg plate for breakfast is $8 extra! Tea coffee and nuts are free but thats your lot. Plastic cutlery, plastic plates. all pretty awful.
No idea why they think this is ok, maybe there are too many Delta Elite travellers for them to extend VS levels of lounge catering, but its pretty shameful. I'll try out others before repeating the trip.
