I changed flight date this morning for me and my 3 year old. Just the outbound...changed it so that we start holiday 4 days earlier. Was charged a small fee as it was done within 24 hours of the booking. Can't remember how long the guy said it would take for new etickets but we've been waiting 10 hours so far. In manage my booking on the virgin website the new date is showing in the itinerary but no ticket has come and payment hasn't come out. How long should I wait before contacting virgin in the event that it doesn't show up? And should I assume that we are unconfirmed on the flight until etickets show up? Flight is next week so I'm just trying to make sure everything is sorted. Thanks

If they have to reticket, then you will have to make sure that the ticket is issued. I would call them tomorrow if nothing overnight.

When I've had to re-ticket with VS, sometimes it has taken a couple of days for the new e-ticket to come through. With BA and EI, the e-ticket has come through while I am still on the phone to them. Why VS can't do that is beyond me in this day and age. ?|

Changed my tickets last night and although it shows in your booking immediately, the agent said allow 24 hrs for it to be re-ticketed.

I wouldn't worry yet, if it hasn't come through after a few days, check your spam folders and also check to see if the payment has been taken from your card.

If not give them a ring, just don't leave it until the day before you travel.

I did an upgrade weeks ago and called because I didn't have a new e ticket and was told it was still in the queue for processing. I think I was originally told up to 5 days.
I wasn't too worried because I was hoping to make another upgrade and yesterday did that together with an inbound date change so I'll be interested to see how others fair.

Thanks for replies. It's been almost 24 hours now and still no eticket. I think I'll give it until tomorrow before contacting them. I didn't realise it could take a while..For some reason I thought it would be a straightforward quick process so when it didn't show up by the end of the day I got a bit worried. I will update when I receive it

It's odd, I've found in the past that when I've booked a ticket with VS the eticket has taken 1-2 days to appear in my email. Yet booking a VS ticket via Opodo the other week I received the eticket within 5 minutes of the online transaction. The ticket in question was an ex AMS and combined with BA legs but the "issuing airline" is shown as VS.

We booked a flight and changed a flight (within 24 hours) a couple of weeks ago. We were told that we would receive the ticket for the new booking immediately and the changed booking within 48 hours and that is exactly what happened. On this occasion Virgin excelled themselves - 4 G tickets from Manchester to Orlando!!!!!!!

I had to change the name on our e-ticket (because VA didn't get it right - despite having the right FC no's) I was told 2-3 days for a new e-ticket - it took 2-3 minutes! go figure. :D

I upgraded mine with cash and a new e-ticket was issued few minutes later. The wife on a different PNR but same flight used her Amex upgrade voucher to upgrade and have yet to receive her new e-ticket, it has been a week and half ago now.

Does it matter whether to have a new e-ticket or not, online 'manage your booking' is showing the correct upgraded cabin?

Doesn't the 'manage my booking' have the option to re-send your e-ticket? I thought it did.

just a bit worried as a read a post where a similar thing happened. a guy changed his flight, change showed in his manage my booking and allowed him to choose seats on plane but he didn't receive eticket. turned up at airport and was not recognised on the system and had to buy a new ticket. so although the change is showing in my itinerary im worried it may not be 100% confirmation of the flight change. I just called virgin as its been 24 hours now and they said it does usually take up 24 hours but has been known to take uto 48 hours. the lady put me on hold and spoke to the ticketing team who said it should be with me within the next hour hopefully.

Dave Adkins..because the new ticket hasn't been processed yet I am unable to re-send the ticket in the manage my booking section

I just went into My booking in Flying Club
It says, 'Some bookings can re-send e-ticket'
I clicked on the ? to try and see which bookings could re-send and got an on line chat.
I have been told mine is with the ticketing team and I should get it in 48 hours.
I want it NOW, the flight is only 253 days away. I have to get organised and pack.

The re-send e-ticket function under 'Manage My Booking' doesn't always appear depending on the ticket. My ticket under my PNR has the re-send function activated but under the wife's PNR, the function is missing.

Most definitely! If it doesn't come soon, you really will be pushed to get packed in time! :o)
