Hi all,

It's been a busy time for me flight-wise recently; back from a trip to New York (with Virgin, natch!) but the day before I flew to NY, I arrived home from Sydney after flying with Singapore Airlines!

Anyway, I gave them by FC number for the SQ flight, but I've yet to see the miles and TPs in my account - how long should I give it before chasing them up?

Cheers,

Darryl

Is this a new airline, like "Virgin, Nigeria" or "Virgin, Blue"? [:p]

It can take up to a month for them to sort out partner transactions, but I would have thought it would be quicker with SQ.

Have you sent your boarding passes in for further proof of the flight? If not, it might be a good pre-emptive move.

"Virgin Natch" as an airline? What country would it fly in though I wonder? :D

As for the SQ credits, I haven't filled in a "missing miles" claim form yet - maybe worth calling the Flying Club number first?

Thinking about the flight I had - it's apparently 5 TP's per flight that's greater than 2000 miles for Singapore airlines flights when flying Raffles. I guess it's too much to hope that they consider LHR-SIN, and SIN-SYD two flights? :)

Natch is short for naturally. So I think randalf was saying that he has flown Virgin Naturally. This is the newest virgin airline with environmentally friendly flying as its central thrust. One day, according to SRB, they hope to be using "plant fuel" to power the VN fleet. However that technology is not quite there yet. So for now the key differences between VN and VS are that on VN:
1) They paint the name of a lesser developed country (or perhaps I should say, Human Resource Rich Country - what's PC these days?) on the side to highlight world poverty issues.
2) They clean the aircraft less often - even though they become tatty much less detergent is used.
3) They use the much slower (and therefore less harmful) A343's leased from VS.
4) They paint a green line down the aircraft and paint the engines green to highlight the new airline's environmental aspirations.
5) Currently there is only 1 aircraft leased to VN

I guess it's a bit like VK really:D

I had to chase up a load of SQ flights earlier this year.

Fill in and print out the missing miles claim form online and send it off to Flying Club along with your boarding pass stubs or e-ticket. When i sent mine away it took about 2 weeks for them to appear, although if you give them a week and then follow up with a phone call they can usually do it then and there for you.

Missing miles with VS can usually be cliamed online or over the phone, but partner airlines (such as SQ or ANZ) need to be done the old fashioned way and take a bit longer. Keep an eye on your account online, as soon as they have processed your claim it will show online.

SQ are pretty good at posting VS miles/TPs. Takes about 1 week max. to hit. Never had to chase for my flights before.

If you flew from SYD to LHR on one flight code, then it is 1 on set of points. However, SYD - SIN and SIN - LHR are normally 2 different flight numbers with 2 different boarding passes. If so, you are entitled to two sets of points. Hopefully, you still have the 2 separate boarding passess to make a claim.

Good luck

Hey! My TPs and Miles posted for my KUL shuttle flights and my flighe to SYD today (13DEC2005). The period of the flights was (07DEC2005 to 10DEC2005). Guess I am lucky. Also they upgraded my status and changed my FC number (not only the three prefix,008)

OT: So my membership number changed completly. I have my return to KL via SIN, and one more KL-SIN flight, and three Hilton stays. Does it matter that my are under the old number?

Thanks

Old and new FC accounts remain linked in the VS system, so any miles and TPs earned on the old account should appear in your new silver account (for which, btw, congratulations!). If you want to be bomb-proof on getting everything, you can always change the FC number with SQ and Hilton when you fly/stay.

Best wishes

Then your FC Membership number is about to change again. I suppose, if that bother you, you could always tell FC you'd like to stay a silver member to avoid confusion...:D

Anyway, don't worry about losing miles, they will all come to whichever account is current at the time. You may find you lose some TPs between the point at which you qualify for gold and the issue of your new membership pack - that can take up to about a month.

Best wishes
