All,

I booked return flights from LHR to LAX in January 2015.
Departure times were originally 12 noon from LHR and 18.50 from LAX. I've checked my booking this morning and they've now been changed to 10.55 and 17.15 respectively.
While I have no problem leaving earlier from London, I'm a little worried about the earlier departure time from LAX.
I'm flying back from Honolulu on the same day, arriving at LAX Terminal 7 around 14.40, giving me around 2.5 hours to get my luggage back and go to Terminal 2 to bag drop again, as I'm flying United on the domestic part.
Is it doable, is it enough time ?
Flying PE on the way back so not too keen on having to postpone my departure and fly Delta in Y.
Many thanks in advance !

Should be fine as long as your flight from HNL isn't drastically late.

If you were doing it the other way round - ie transferring from a VS flight on to the HNL flight - I'd say it was risky because of the unknown quantities of US immigration and customs.

But it shouldn't take any more than 45 minutes - an hour at most - to collect your bags, get the shuttle bus round to T2 and check in and clear security for the VS flight.

I am in the same situation. I have booked return flights from LHR to LAX in December with VA and the flight times have now changed. This is not a problem on the LHR to LAX flight, but I am worried about the LAX to LHR.
I have an AA flight from LAS at 1.40pm due to land at LAX at 2.50pm. VA LAX-LHR now departs at 5.15pm and my checked baggage has to be in by 4.15pm.
That gives me 1hr25 mins to get from Terminal 4, get my bag, and check it in again (at Terminal 2?).
First thoughts were I won't make it and decided to phone up AA whose change fee costs more than the return flights ha ha.
Now after seeing this thread I'm wondering if I should just stick with it, but I could be in trouble if the plane is delayed. The flight is on the 24th December if that would make a difference?

Ask nicely when you check in for your AA flight if they will through check you to LHR. Many of the legacy carriers have done this for me even though the flights are not on the same PNR. The answer may be no but it does no harm to ask.

Sorry Honey lamb, can I check in online 24hrs beforehand and just ask when I drop my baggage off, or do you mean wait and actually check in at the airport and ask nicely then?
