I've been out of the loop for the last 12 months due to family illness but now planning our trip to Orlando with VA in 2015,there will be 4 adults and 2 children (twins)going my wife & myself have around 158000 miles each and daughter and son in law 160000 between them and was hoping to get reward seats although I don't know what are chances will be,looking to flying May 2015 any thoughts or advise

Which cabin are you after?

Six UC reward seats on the same flight just isn't going to happen I fear, as there are only 14 UC seats on the entire plane.

Premium Economy - maybe, but still pushing it. Economy - better chance although May can be tight for availability with two bank holidays and half term.

As a general rule, using miles to buy reward seats outright isn't always great value, particularly in economy, because of the high fees & taxes you still have to pay. You tend to get better value out of paying for an upgradable economy fare (M) then using miles to upgrade, subject to availability.

Thanks gumshoe ideal thing would be for me & the wife to travel PE in the bubble and see if rest can get the EC seats up there, daughter who has been looking said there was 6 reward seats to be had on a flight in May, this in theory will be our last trip for a few years and 1st one with our twin grandchildren so would like it to be special

My strong advice is to give FC a call

You mention May and I am going to make a guess that time around half term might be a factor. In my attempts to book flights for 6 during this May, it was FC who came up with what turned out to be the cheapest I could have hoped for.

Or fly somewhere else and fly on. I have got 5 on both New York and Boston uc recently. Or wait for sale to get cheap uc and then cancel some rewards. So book what you can on rewards and then look to change them over time to better class reward or cheap bought ticket. Get 6 on same plane first then check daily to try and get pe or uc rewards
