So my OH and myself are taking our first flight on VS next month on the VS17. We have secured seats 43H&K my question is where does the meal service start is it from the front or the back? My OH is a fussy eater so if they run out of meals she wont eat a thing.

Personally I'd try and sit as far forward in the cabin as possible. Not only are you more likely to get your first choice of meal, you'll be off the plane quicker and through immigration & customs faster.

With an 11pm arrival into EWR you'll probably want to get to your destination ASAP and the last thing you'll want to do is stand in a long immigration queue. While the airport will be quiet, they may not have many desks open at that time of night.

Thanks for the replys guys. The only seats that are further forward to ours is 41H&K and 40H&K so no real difference there as to where we are sitting. Is sitting beside the crew stairs on the A346 annoying? I was thinking it would be a blessing as when the plane pulls in id be able to get up and get my carry on luggage faster for a quick exit.

More seats will probably become available further front when OLCI opens at T-24. I'd try for them if you can.

I very much doubt you'll get a swift exit - people tend to get off in row order from the front, and the moment the plane comes to a stop there'll be people standing up and blocking the aisles, preventing a quick charge to the front.

It sounds utterly mad but when you do get off the plane, run like mad till you get to security - you'll feel silly, but live with it, because every person you overtake is one less in front of you in the security queue and it can matter at EWR (and other airports in the US), really it can. Before we realised this, we queued for over an hour in the security "snake".

Ill give that a go thank god im in the forward section of Economy so I do pity those in the back section. My OH is American and I am a greencard holder so we should skip the non us immigration lines.
