Surprising friends and seat selection

I will be flying to Las Vegas in October. I have been going to LV for several times but this is the first visit for a number of my friends. So far I have managed to keep it secret that I will be on the same flight, the majority of them are flying Premium with a couple in Economy.
I am planing to surprise them mid flight, rather than at the Airport or Boarding, I think at that stage it will be totally unexpected. My first question is whether anyone has done anything similar and did you do anything out of the ordinary (someone mentioned about asking the cabin crew to let me serve my friends drinks?).
This will also be my first trip in Upper on a 747 (all my previous have been on a Airbus) - is it acceptable to select 6K or is it considered impolite? Am I likely to get moved to seat a couple? The reason for siting there is to get the chance to have an almost forward looking view, not sure if that is the case with that seat? (Am choosing K over A for the view when coming into Vegas).

I did post that my friends are non gaming, non p****r but for some reason it would not let me post it?

I don't have any real advice but I just wanted to say wow..... I would find that super stressful sneaking on to the plane, mind you, you can hole yourself up in the clubhouse till the last minute......maybe take a newspaper to hide behind at the gate just in case they spot you while they are waiting to board. I think if the cc will let you serve their drinks that would be amazing! How funny! Please come back and tell us how you get on.

The view is no different to any other UC seat. The way the suites are configured isn't great for looking out of the windows as they're more or less behind your head. And alas there's no window out of the front of the nose, so your view ahead from 6K is of a blank wall and whoever's in 6A.

I'd sit further back - maybe row 8 or 9?

Depending where your PE friends are sitting, they may see you boarding

Penny's right. The way the LGW 747s are configured, you have to walk through the lower deck PE cabin to access UC so if your friends are sitting there they'll definitely see you.

The best way of staying undercover is to ensure that your friends are all seated upstairs, which is split between PE & Economy. The bubble's popular, though, and several seats up there tend to be reserved for Virgin Holidays customers so securing seats can be easier said than done.

I am not a stalker, known some of these guys for over 25 years! I was always the Vegas reg and most of them have not been. Change in my circumstance means I was not expected to go this trip but as so many of them are Vegas Virgins I could not resist. I love being in Vegas and it all the better when you go with newbies. Hence the reason for getting on the trip!

I would surprise them at the airport.
Draw straws for who you guest into the lounge.
That way you can add something to the trip for a couple of them.

Surprising them on board is going to be tricky but doable.

Personally, I would do it whilst on the ground... Either be at the next desk along when they are all checking in and give a casual wave, or breeze past them at the gate on boarding and drop the one liner 'see you in Vegas lads' ... let their brains do the rest and see them on the other side

I think someone's made some assumptions here about who's paid what and what people can or can't afford, none of which has been alluded to by the OP.

I get what he's trying to do, you obviously don't and that's fair enough. I think it would be fun if he could pull it off.

To the OP: if you mange to do it, or not, if you talk nicely to the FSM he/she may let you serve your friends drinks. After all, they let John Barrowman do it when he flies. They even let him dress up a bit it's worth asking whether your undercover trick works or not.
