I saw some posts (on another site) a couple of days ago about some pretty poor feedback people had been posting about Norwegian Air new routes to MCO and FLL (May have been one or the other, not neccessarily both) - I'm struglling to find them. But essentially passengers were reporting that the 787s had been flying (presumably due to cancelled orders) and instead 'old' leased planes from another company were being used. These planes were in poor repair internally and had no IFE, but someone had also reported 'significant' issues with the toilets on-board.

Does anyone know anything about this? Have you seen those reviews? Can you post a link to them (I wish I had kept it when I first saw it).

My folks are due to fly with them in September from LGW-FLL.

I was a little concerned to read that Norwegian are technically abusing the 'Open Skies' agreement by opening an office in Dublin whilst not operating any flights out of Ireland. This all seems to fit with cancelled orders, and I'm speculating the next step maybe to cancel the route.

I'm sure one of the many knowledgeable and frequent fliers must know something about this.

I think you're referring to a couple of posts on Flyertalk.

Both, however, relate to Norwegian's Copenhagen to LAX route and not their new routes from LGW to FLL, LAX & JFK (not MCO). I can't see any reports of the LGW routes being operated by anything other than the advertised Dreamliners.

That said, some of the reviews of the new service aren't particularly glowing, particularly regarding legroom and the (paid for) food offering. I suspect people just aren't used to getting "no frills" when flying TATL and, while perfectly happy to put up with LCC service on a 2 hour flight to Europe, probably aren't prepared for it on a 10 hour flight to the US.

So far they have had no real problems with their LGW routes, with the longest delay being a 2 1/2 hour one on a flight to LAX a couple of weeks ago. Don't forget people are more likely to write reviews if they have a negative experience so the reviews are disproportionate with what the majority have experienced.

I am flying with them later today to LAX so I will attempt a trip report of sorts once I return in a couple of weeks! :)

Looks like it's all gone a bit tits-up for DU.

48-hour delay in LAX after 787 went tech

Knocking on to the LGW-FLL route. Long thread on The Dibb.

Twitter hashtag #NeverFlyNorwegian has been trending

While all airlines suffer from delays and cancellations, it does seem that the lack of aircraft DU have has made a bad situation worse.

I see Friday's DY flight from LGW to FLL, which was delayed until 0850 today, has been delayed again and is now estimated for 1100.

Granted, another 2 hours on top of a 41 hour delay may not be too significant in the grand scheme of things but presumably many of the passengers would have had to get up at 5am or possibly even earlier to check in and now aren't due to arrive at FLL until gone 8pm UK time. Ouch.

Today's LGW-LAX flight is also showing a 2 hour plus delay. DY are clearly having problems with their much-hyped new TATL service.

Fares too good to be true? Maybe so.

When Norwegian announced the US routes from LGW there were doubts posted here that they could maintain such an ambitious schedule. The turnaround times leave hardly any room for error and the recent delays confirm this is the case. v(

DY have nothing in reserve if a plane goes tech, amd now we are in peak season they will find it tough to source a back up from another carrier.

Tough times ahead for DY on routes less than a month after starting them from LGW. This does not bode well.

And this afternoon's LAX flight is showing a 5.5 hour delay.

If this carries on DY will be paying out more in compensation than they're getting in fares!

Their fares aren't that low!

Compensation due to a unforeseen circumstance?

I just think the GoldCare programme isn't working for them in the way they thought it would.
