Just had a email this morning from Virgin, the offer that goes with the Tesco Clubcard (625 miles for £2.50) has an extra 20% on it between 28th July and 5th September.

So for £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers you can get 750miles. ;) ;)
Thought I'd pass on the good news.

I got the same email.

In addition to the above, setting up "auto-convert" also gets you 1000 miles. I've already set it up like that, though, and have just received my FC miles last week from Clubcard, with a 20% bonus (to my surprise) :)

Hello, thanks for posting about this. Me and the other half have Clubcard accounts with approx 13K points in each one. However I have not received an email from Virgin and was waiting for such a deal before setting up the auto convert. Which department in Virgin would I need to chase? (Have only been using Clubcard for last couple of months)

To receive e-mails make sure that you have not blocked correspondence in your account settings.

To set up the auto convert you need to go to your tesco clubcard account via tesco.com

Have just checked my club card statement and it looks like the points have already converted to miles 50 points for 125 miles, I think that is the standard, so I will have to see if they will back date the 20% bonus (plus the 1000 bonus miles), still 30K plus miles!

I didn't get an email, or if I did it's gone into spam.
I logged into flying club, clicked on the earn miles, went to the Tesco link and from there went to Options. Scroll down and check the button to auto convert points to Virgin. Then enter your clubcard number and all done.

I have a follow-up question on this -- I already have the "auto-convert" set-up (so won't get the 1000 miles bonus), but since the clubcard statement date, I had transferred 3500 clubcard points to Clubcard.

Does anyone know whether I can manually transfer those points now rather than waiting till the Nov Clubcard statement so that I can get the 20% bonus?

I did a "dummy" transfer, and it seemed that I could add 3500 points to basket, but the calculator of how many FC miles it will turn into is blank, which makes me think that it may not be possible. What I don't want, of course, is for the transaction to not work for some reason, but lose the points. I don't need those miles until next year, anyway, but might be worth doing for the 20% bonus. Every little helps, as they say ):

Don't know if you can, but my wife is on auto transfer and has just got an extra 20% added to her miles.

I got the 20% bonus, too, on the auto-transfer but now I'm getting greedy and want to transfer my additional 3500 points (earned after the 17 July) manually to get another 1,750 FC miles... ;)

Any club card points earned after the 17th July will have to wait until the next quarter statement of October. Vouchers may not be redeemable until November. Sorry.

DDC if the vouchers are sitting in you club card account you transfer as many as you like for the 20% bonus. Linda

You got it mrsw, my OH says I am sad as now being retired I have the time to go on all the cashback sites and forums looking for the best deals. Even if only for a one night hotel stay you wouldn't believe the difference in prices. Car hire don't get me started its a minefield.

Yup, you need to wait for clubcard points to be converted to vouchers at the end of each quarter, and then convert the voucher to Flying Club miles!

I have a question loosely connected to this, if i may?

Having only re-started collecting airmiles (VS and BA) this year after a decade break, I found out last week that my Tesco Clubcard account is so old (like me) that it qualifies for 800 Avios per 250 Clubcard points (not the usual 600 Avios). Great news!

However, I have not so far converted any Tesco clubcard points to Virgin miles. Does anyone know if a "Premium" Clubcard account (as they were once called) conversion to Virgin Flying Club miles also attracts a supplementary bonus (this current offer aside)?

I just checked my FC account and although I had opted in for the auto convert a couple of months ago (prior to this offer), I have just received 1000 bonus! I'm loving this offer, as my account kept being credited without any action on my part!
