Plane escorted into Manchester airport.

Just heard about a passenger plane having been escorted into Manchester

Hope everything is okay will those involved.

"A man on the Doha to Manchester plane has been arrested on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat."

That's the only way you'd get me to fly into Manchester airport.

I never go to Manchester without an armed escort.

The fighter jets caused much excitement over Stockport as they circled round. Poor man has now been sectioned.

Poor man! This guy was threatening to blow up a aircraft with hundreds on board. He deserves more than to be sectioned.

I don't think the comments were in any way offensive, nor do I think the person in question is a 'poor man'. This was very serious and I imagine incredibly scary for all of those involved.

Bet a lot of people on that flight will never go on a plane again cause of that prat!

Jsut wanted to defend my hometown. I think someone saying I would only go into Manchester with an armed escort is a poor joke at best.

When I said 'poor man' it was because clearly someone has mental health problems if they are going to do something so stupid. If they are found to be sane then they should be charged the £250,000 the whole exercise cost.

My comments were signed at the awful airport, not the occupants of Manchester. My better half is a Manc and so true blue

I'm not terribly sure that the other passengers had the first clue what was happening, so to say they were terrified is a Daily Mailism I suspect.

If indeed the suspect was mentally ill, I wish him a speedy recovery. If he wasn't, I hope they throw the library at him, let alone the book....

As for Manchester - I'm not a northerner, but having visited there on a number of occasions, I have to say that I always found it a fun, friendly and dynamic city.

It is a wonderful city that continues to evolve. Just avoid Deansgate on a Saturday night....
