I've booked reward flights before (usually PE). I've booked 2 reward flights to Montego Bay, economy there class t and returning PE class p
Never occurred to me before but can I upgrade these flights with money. After just having flown BA club I really fancy a bit more luxury :/

I've never seen the check-in desk refuse to upgrade a ticket using cash.

Whilst what backdoc says is true.... money rules :P .... on paper the T and P fares should only be upgradeable (depending on how you got them) with miles.

What's the scenario rach..... did you just use straight miles to purchase the T and P? or was something more complicated involved?

Last year I had non upgrade PE tickets and asked about upgrade at the desk on the way home.
I was told my tickets were not upgradeable but I could but a new Upper ticket at full fare. There was one seat available.

Having said that I've heard of people getting great deals at the desk so I guess it depends who is on the other side of the desk.

Thanks guys. They were booked using all miles. I only had enough to book those classes unfortunately.
We are travelling at Easter so I'd imagine that any upgrades at the desk would seem unlikely anyway?

I imagine it more depends on the seats available. If they're sold out in PE, for example but with plenty of space in UC such that they might need to consider op-ups then they're likely to offer a good deal to a PE passenger actually asking to pay for that upgrade.

If there's no such need, and only a single UC seat (which they might conceivably sell at full fare to a last minute walk-in passenger) then there's less likelihood of a good upgrade deal to be offered...
