Getting close to my first flight with VA when doing online check-in (taking the passbook option) will I have to log in twice once for me and then again for girlfriend or can I check us both in on one login?

Secondly we are taking the VS45 LHR-JFK. Seems recent flights have taken the advertised flight time around 7.5hrs. I know it doesn't really matter as many things can happen to affect flight time and the main thing is getting there, just wondering what the quickest anyone has done this route in?

As long as your girlfriend is on the same booking as you then when you log in to OLCI you'll be asked to click a tick box next to the names of pax you're doing check in for, so it will be same time.

I can't answer question 2 but I think I've seen posts somewhere that said 6 and half hours for one sector, think it might have been the return; but I might be wrong. There's a few on here who do NYC regularly, (I can think of someone who virtually lives there) that will better answer Q2.

Have a fab trip and remember we like trip reports ;)

We fly to NY twice a year, either VS1 to EWR or VS45 to JFK and usually find that the outward flight is pretty much to time and return flights usually quite early arriving.

If you look along the top of V-Flyer pages, click on "Toolbox" and then "Schedules" and you can enter the flight number and the month and check departure and arrival times in recent months.

Enjoy your flight - VS45 is our favourite flight, timing works very well for us. And have a great time in the US.

Don't forget your trip report afterwards, we all enjoy reading them.

Lots of thing can delay a flight, but tail winds can speed them up.
Prevailing winds are usually from the states so it's coming home that tends to be quicker. They knock 30 minutes off the flight time then circle central London for 25.

I was on the vs45 in May and I think it took 7 hours. The quickest LHR to JFK I did was just over 6 hours, and time flew by as it was my first ever time in UC! That was about 18 months ago, though.
