So we booked to go to Dubai, PE, as we had already flown to Boston, USA earlier in the year UC. To ease the pain of not turning left on the plane, i decided that i would get in touch with VH with a view to booking access to the Club Lounge at T3. Well that was the plan, the reality is that i paid to upgrade one way to Dubai instead :D Not going to tell the wife until we stroll up to the UC check-in desk... i think she will like it.

As someone has said on here, 'once you have turned left, there's no going back' :D

Arrange DTCI without her knowledge...that will impress so much you'll be on for a promise for months! ;)

It's not diamonds but turning left that gets the girl and keeps her.

Trust me, I'm that girl.

:) ^) y) Brilliant news, well done and yes, DTCI every time. But that's like UC as well - once you've done it, you don't want ever again to have to slum it at the "ordinary" check-in desks!

Sinister, from my old Chambers:
On the left side;
Misleading;
Underhand;
Suggestive of threatened evil.

From this I deduce that once you have gone to the left hand side you are trapped on the dark side and there is no going back.

Well done and enjoy the surprise.

I was going to do the same but ended up telling my wife what I'd done! I think it was so we could both share the excitement of the buildup, also she can then use the full baggage allowance (I've got no idea what for though, if she uses the full baggage allowance, there's no way it's going to fit into the Mustang I've got booked on arrival!)

So how does the DTCI work if you have already booked a 'meet and greet' at terminal three with Purple parking? They are based on level 3 of the Terminal 3 Short Stay car park?

First book your arrival time with the Virgin Upper Class team... driver name (you?) vehicle registration required.

Call Purple Parking and let them know you are Virgin Upper Class and would like to use the Virgin DTCI using the PP Meet and Greet. They are excellent at meeting these requests

They will ask you to meet the driver at T3 arrivals in the lane furthest away from the terminal...near to the official LHR meet and greet area.

(I usually confirm my arrival time to PP en route)

The driver will meet you there (he'll look out for your car by licence plate and car type and introduce himself. If he's not there, sit tight, he'll not be far away.

He'll get in as a passenger
Then you drive around to DTCI and go through the entry barrier ...watch out ..it's a tight turn!

Then, at the top of the ramp whilst you are feeling a million dollars after this awesome experience, the lovely VS staff will grab your bags and whisk you away to your tranquil check in zone.

Don't forget to get the receipt for your car from the PP driver.... a tip is optional!.

The driver will then move you car to the PP parking lot a few miles away from LHR nice and safe. I've ever had an issue apart from a flat tyre when I joined the M4 leaving LHR upon my return...no fault of PP though.

Enjoy DTCI and onwards through the private security channel and up to he Clubhouse.

Hope this helps
