Booking a flight on VS now swamped with Delta connections

Trying to book an Xmas return from NYC to LHR, but find the VS booking options swamped with ridiculous Delta connections in Atlanta or Detroit or Minneapolis. Fly the wrong way for 2 hours, then fly it back again. Nuts. Furthermore, What look like decent prices for UC round trips all turn out to be Delta wrong direction connections. As soon as you choose one of the VS direct options, the price magically doubles. Is this the sad future?

VS - you need to have a check-box on the 'Search Flights' page for Direct Flights Only so we are not served up with endless misleading options.

It is annoying having to sift through all the delta options.
On the flights screen there is a drop down (all flights, top leftish corner) that allows you to select direct flights only.

Selecting direct doesn't alter any of the prices, just knocks out the one's you don't want.
