I've just tried two reward bookings.
On the first I had class set to economy and got offered economy only as of old.
I then tried Upper and got the new style calendar.
I don't think the calendar is showing availability, it's not until you pick dates you want it lets you know if they are available.
The biggest new advantage is that it at least shows availability on out and return so you don't need to do two separate searches.
However it doesn't show if the dates close to the chosen one are available and that's a step back.

OK, I just done a third search this time for one way.
When I did a return it gave me the calendar and then the three classes with no availability in Upper on either leg.
Now a one way trip displays old style but gives me an available reward seat on the date requested.

There is a fault there somewhere. (what a surprise.)

I also see some discrepancies bewteen what the colour coding reports, and then what you see when you open the days in question. This is looking at NYC flights.

I also note that ocassionally it reverts to the old stlye and again may show different availability. I have seen a few cases where reward flights are not there, you search again and then they are there. I suppose this could be down to bookings being held in the system then released by the call centres.

It an improvement for sure, and works in the mobile site as well.

Same here. I'm looking for NY in January. They showed up on the new sparkly pretty site but when I choose dates the "computer said no" Then went to the spend miles page on FC old style and they came up as available.

Close but no cigar VA IT :)
