Fingers firmly crossed. We are due to fly to LAX on VS7 on Tuesday using our G's after going down from MAN on Little Red for first time. Last time the eruption was the day before we were due to fly to Orlando and we were delayed 9 days before another flight could be arranged. Luckily being retired we could alter all our hotel bookings and still stay for the same length of time. Hopefully we won't have same problem this time and looking forward to using the LHR clubhouse for the first time.

We are due to fly in 4 weeks but daughter flying out two weeks earlier. On tenterhooks with everything crossed.

We were stranded in New York for a week in 2010 and can't believe another Icelandic Volcano may be getting ready to bite me on the bum again :0

Well we are due to fly a week on Thursday and return just over a week later.

I'm watching this very closely as the timing of this in relation to our flights isn't great and I was caught out in 2010 when the day I was supposed to fly to Portugal was the day UK airspace shut down. It was only going to be a short break before going back to uni, so the break was duly cancelled. :(!

Hopefully it will settle down. It's just reminding us it is there :)

Pity the poor farmers who have lands around the volcanoes. I have been across the base of eyjafjallajokull after it erupted in 2010. An entire lagoon was breached and washed away taking everything in it's path. Total destruction.

But the volcanic activity makes Iceland what it is- a truly awesome landscape. If you have never been I would highly recommend it. One of the best trips I have ever been on and I will certainly be visiting again.

Looks like something is happening underneath Bardabunga, let's hope it's just ice melt and lava, and no ash!
