Reward upgrades

I have finally earned my very first economy to premium free upgrade with my Amex card. What I am not sure is, would this be a return flight or just one way ?

It's a return upgrade.

The upgrade is always for a return flight. But......book early to get the upgrade & MCO is always difficult to get on reward flights

But definitely do-able. PE is much more readily available than Upper. When I booked my flight for next year 11 months prior to my return date PE upgrades were there for both the out leg(10 months away) and the return.
