I have used the Alamo online check in link from the VS car hire confirmation many times - successfully until yesterday. On page 1 one is asked to provide the Travel Program in order to fill in FF Club number. There is a drop down box but only one choice - Virgin Atlantic. I click on this, press continue and then get the message that "Travel Program does not exist " and I can't go any further.
After several failed attempts I decided to phone the helpline provided. The young man informed me that he had never had this problem before - but try not filling in the box. So I did that and was of course then asked online to complete it. I tried to type in the reply but it wouldn't let me. The only other suggestion he had was to use a different PC. Did that. Same result. So he concluded that:- never mind, you can use the Alamo desk at MCO when you get there. :0

The whole point of online check in is to avoid the queues at the desk .... v(

Has anyone else had this problem with online check in please ? Has anyone got any further helpful suggestions , please ? :(

Thank You
hiljil

Sorry never used it.
I may be a bit sad but I enjoy going to the desk.
As I stay overnight at the airport I'm usually down early and don't meet any queues. A bit of friendly banter and I negotiate a discounted upgrade. Last two years staff have come over to the garage to see what is available and then sort out what extra I have to pay.

Wow , Dickyd, you must have met some different staff to the ones I've had at the desk ! I've been kept waiting whilst a pair of them finished making their social plans. I've been "attended to" at the same time as the lady continued a personal conversation on the phone. Another time I didn't get a hint of a smile, a please , a thank you - & certainly not the usual obligatory "Have a nice day. "

How fantastic to get that upgrade and the staff checking what's available. Can't believe we've had such different experiences with Alamo !

Can't agree more with you Dick D. I have always found the Alamo staff very helpful and willing to do their best. When Mrs J and I were at MCO in May this year, a guy at the desk, Brian went above and beyond getting us the vehicle we wanted and getting a great discount off at the same time.

MCO seems to have changed. I arrived last week, online check in didn't work for me. I went to the desk and was sent by a rep at the start of the line to the Garage.

Down there you'll find a Virgin Atlantic booth. Two minute stop there and they've handled everything and we're in the car. So when you arrive, skip the desk and head to the garage where they seem to be offering a new/quicker service!

Sounds a lot like Dollar Express (although no more miles with dollar now) - but now at the booth, there is a TV screen with our name on it and the number of the parking space where your car is - you can of course pick anyone you like and just drive to the exit.

When you off Hiljil ?

No, LAX.

I did have to check-in a few times before it would let me print out the hire agreement. It kept going back to the login page when you pressed the complete check-in button??

"Travel program does not exist ".

I had convinced myself that it was because I was flying to MCO and Trekkie had mentioned things were changing there ... But obviously it isn't .

Thank you for your suggestion, Paul.

I would suggest doing the OLCI without the FC number and hand over your flying club card at the exit booth along with your credit/debit card where they will be able to add it onto your booking.
