Hello and thank you!

Hello there!

I have been reading (almost stalking!?) V-flyer for a while now and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the information/assistance you have all given me.

I am now, for the first time EVER, packing for a trip in Upper Class! We are heading to San Francisco in a few days then back from LA and managed to get G's both ways thanks to all the advice on here.

I was also wondering the best way to thank a member of flying club helpline staff? I had an amazing lady who went beyond the call of duty to help me organise these flights, even refunding me some miles that I hadn't even realised I was missing! I can see a page on the VS website for comments to flight staff but not for call centre people?

I am not a frequent flyer, once a year for hols will be it, but I will be saving away miles like my life depends on it- as I have read on here so often- "once we've turned left......."

Funnily enough I have just been sifting through old emails and about three years ago I sent an email to customer services complaining that they keep saying I've got miles for an upgrade but there is never an upgrade I want to use them.
I got a wonderful reply and a phone call from customer services. The lady that deal with me was brilliant. She was only part time but each day that she worked she checked for reward seats and as they came up she called me and upgraded the flight. Eventually to Upper on both legs although we did have to change one flight.
I have had a few upgrades to first over the years with various airlines but this was the first pre-planned trip in Upper.
As you say once you have turned left that's it.
Last year we chucked in a late holiday booking in PE but thanks to all the help from this site I managed to navigate my way around getting Upper rewards for next year. And I'm on target to have enough points for 2016.
I think Facebook may be an option to sing their praises. Not for me personally as I don't use it but I understand it's quite popular.

Cheers everyone for all the good wishes, excited doesn't even begin to cover it! I have family on the west coast and have done 11hrs in economy, and not always VS sadly, far too many times.......although I think we'll be fairly obvious newcomers when we can't even work the seats!! I looked for reward flights twice a day for MONTHS-but I'm so glad I did, I'm possibly more excited about the flight than the holiday....oops!

Have you got any packing cubes? If not,how on earth are you going of pack properly!

I'm not sure how you'd go about ensuring the customer service agent was personally appraised for their helpfulness, but if you think it was 'above and beyond' and can find no other route then send an email to the CEO Craig Kreeger [email protected]

He'll surely have someone who can make sure your message gets through.

Bretty I'm not organised enough for packing cubes but for the first time in my life I am allowed to take three suitcases......each one is like a massive packing cube!!! I could get used to this.

Are you actually gonna take 3 suitcases? Wow! But why not. Have a great time, and put your hollow legs on for the Clubhouse and the obligatory champagne / redhead / mojito / cocktail (delete as appropriate unless you're gonna try them all!).

Well done. We flew out to LAX last month on G's and it was a wonderful experience. We have flown Upper before but everything seemed so much better as it was on a 'G' flight!!

Fabulous news Jo, well done, great persistence which paid off in spades. You will love it but like we all say, there's no turning back now, you'll want to fly UC every time and you will have such a fabulous time in the CH you'll never want to fly again without access to that heaven on earth.

Loved your chocolate lab, they really are such wonderful dogs.

Hehe Syrome I hadn't thought of that......OH might kill me! But I could just half pack the ones I already have to leave space for excessive shopping!!

When there might be some serious shopping involved I tend to err on the side of taking a spare fold up bag to accommodate!

on our last trip to tokyo we went with two cases plus two check in cases each

The staircase leads to the haven that is the CH and don't worry about 8am ,time has no meaning when a virgin CH and alcohol are involved
