Afternoon all,
So Mrs Hull and I are trying the Ex DUB trick for our New Years trip to Las Vegas but when I looked at my booking today for no particular reason I noticed a new paragraph in red advising me of a schedule change meaning a very tight connectional JFK on the return, now we are both able to make a run for it at the gate but seven minutes is just too tight even for me.
I called Expedia to see what could be done and the agent tried to palm me off with a flight that left Las Vegas four hours earlier than scheduled (0700 not 1100 n( ) and then have nearly seven hours layover at JFK v( , "out of the question" I said.
After nearly an hour on the phone I think he got the message that I would not be fobbed off and he went back to Delta with a couple of the suggestions I came up with some of which included the alliance with VS but they were having none of that, in the end I settled for a quick hop from LAS-SEA then SEA-LHR both on DL which now gives me an extra four hours in Las Vegas (now departing 1500) a forty minute change in SeaTac followed by a now nine hour red eye to help maximise sleep (or drinking ): ) then landing in my own airport of choice (LHR) nine hours earlier than I would have if I had gone to DUB all for no extra charge.
I can't help but think that being a V-Flyer and learning all the tricks of the trade from you (wonderful) lot had a big part to play in my success oo) y)
Thanks Guys and Gals
Dominic
