Just received an email from VS advising me that Mrs J and I will have the use of the IAM Jet Service Lounge at Grenada for our upcoming flights :)

Have had a look online and the lounge is far from a VS CH, however the lounge beats sitting around the departure area.

Thought I would post for info for anyone travelling to GND.

Thanks

Dan

I passed through the lounge last week and although I was with BA the procedure is the same. After the check in process you are taken by a golf cart around the side of the main terminal and through the freight entrance to a private security screening area. Once through this there are several small lounges for private jet passengers and a larger lounge for airline passengers. (Forgot to mention that in BA´s case the station manager who puts you on the golf cart had a list of all the first, CW gold and silver members who were eligible for the lounge)The lounge is a typical airport lounge with a self serve bar and nibbles. Once your flight. is ready you a led straight out onto the apron and to the aircraft. Overall a nice experience. (One tip most of the hotels are quite close to the airport and in our case Sandals is on the perimeter fence literally 3 mins away) so we waived the usual three hours before the flight free transfers and opted for a taxi at T90 mins. This still allowed us to grab three large gin and tonics before boarding without wasting too much time at the airport ): ):

By far the best Sandals we have been to. We were on our free week for 70 nights and it was truly amazing. They gave really built it with no budget constraints . Enjoy :D :D
Ps

It really is only three mins from the airport. If your on the left hand side of the cabin you will see the resort in landing.

Hello Dan
Thanks for the information
A few weeks ago I contacted VA who informed me that there is no shared Lounge at Grenada!.
My wife and I are both silvers and traveling UC In January 2015 as we do each year and have never known of this lounge.
Is this lounge open to all UC passengers or only special passengers.

This lounge is new and is primarily for the use of private jet customers. It is however now used by BA and VS for all their first, business and gold card holders and in the case of BA silver card holders. So as an UC passenger you should have access.

Hi Daniel
We fly out on the 15th January and return on 27th February as we do each year, it’s nice to be away from the English winter weather. We do so love Grenada whilst it is still quite, but things are changing !

Things certainly are changing in Grenada. Out of curiosity, where do you stay when in GND? We stay at Petite Anse in the north.

Hello Daniel,
We have been visiting Grenada for more than 20 years and over the years we have stayed at most places all around Grand Anse from ‘Spice Island’ to ‘Siesta’ but we now rent a lovely apartment on far end of the beach called ‘Sea View apartment’ which owned by Dr Glen Duncan. I have to say that I am very concerned about the changes taking place in Grenada, I personally think that the changes are not for the better, Grenada will become another Caribbean playground, sad.
