I have a reservation LHR-BOS for 29 October that is showing as the 787 & I have my seat reserved, really hope that this doesn't change - but if its anything like the VA IT department's track record then I'll get ready for the A330!

Does look really good - especially the crew rest area. I'd prefer that to an UC seat to be honest...

I thought it would be on October 28th? Does anyone know the real inaugural commercial flight?

100% 28th

Just asked the CH staff here in BOS.
They are saying "Hopefully the 28th" - Not really sure what that means :0

Tomorrow is the big day.

Are there plans for any of us to meet up pre flight? Would love to say hello to anyone flying on the Boston.

How many of us will be on the LHR-BOs flight tomorrow?

I just reread the business traveller review and realized the flight to ATL departed from LGW (reviewer stated they were directed to the V room Virgin Holidays lounge versus the Clubhouse.) I wonder what it will be like for LHR.

I was flying economy but saw G availability and opted to just go for UC on this one. Looking forward to this trip!

In looking at the UC seatmap online, it looks like seat assignments are staggered eg. 2G mates with 3K. If anyone on the BOS flight this week could confirm, it would be appreciated! I'm trying to get seats for my wife and I and want to make sure I'm picking correctly... don't need the wrath to start a vacation :D
Thx

They are slightly staggered. Personally I'd recommend side by side (ie two A's two G's or two K's) for a couple in all UC cabins, except for the nose of the 747.

Have a great time when the time comes...

The way the UC suites are configured isn't ideal for couples but most V-Flyers would probably recommend choosing two seats next to each other (eg 2A & 3A) rather than across the aisle. If you want to chat or eat together one can always sit on the other's ottoman or you can use the bar.

Also checked in for VS11 tomorrow. I think I have the seat with no window! :-(

Will be standing at the bar in the clubhouse from about 4, come and say hi.

Will also try to upload some pictures and a mini trip report from the plane!

In the clubhouse, treatments booked and 3rd bramble on the way.....

I think I could see Birthday Girl in the distance from the roof.

She is indeed parked at gate 18.

So, from 34,000 feet where the Wi Fi is working really well there are four v-flyers sitting next to each other in UC (we all knew the best seats to pick!). First impressions are really good, the seat is an updated UCS (so much better than the UCDS), the cabin feels very spacious and there are now luggage bins in the middle (although they don't seem to take any space away). The new bar layout looks great (I'll be trying it later) and strangely the toilets are huge!

The service is great so far and I'm about to start watching the latest Homeland on my iPad with a nice Grey a Goose and tonic...

Great to hear from someone a few miles up in the air , what seat are you in ? I've got 9&11a for my trip but wondering if 11 is too close to the bar ?

Also currently on VS11 - sandwiched between PBLondon, Woralla and GetinJonathon - not hit the bar yet but I'm sure its a matter of time.

First impressions - really really good. VS got it right!

UC seat is nothing new - back to the original - which worked. IFE is a new version of Vera - looks good. But the cabin is amazing.

Lots of pics to follow if I can work out how to upload them!

I love that there's a group of V-Flyers sitting together! It all sounds great from your comments so far. Fingers crossed that once training is complete that we'll get this plane on one of the routes we fly most frequently.

pblondon wrote:Forgot to say there is a new amenity kit as well...

I'm strangely excited about a new amenity kit! The current UC ones are a bit disappointing. Are the new ones any more exciting?
