As for many our VS flights for Tokyo were cancelled after VS dropped the route. We have been re-assigned seats in ANA Business (Z fares).

My original flights were M to G upgrades using cash and points.

I am in miles calculating mode today and wondered: "What VS FC Miles are we going to get for this flight"? :?

1. What we would have received if the flights had flown as planned? y)

2. What any other traveller would receive had they booked ANA Z fares and asked for VS FC points rather than ANA points (as I have done). ^)

3. No points whatsoever? :(!

4. Something entirely different? ?|

I could of course call CS and ask but I suspect one of you know :D

No knowledge, but my guess would be option 2: What any other traveller would receive had they booked ANA Z fares and asked for VS FC points rather than ANA.

I find it hard to believe that their IT systems would distinguish your fare as special, if it's booked as a regular Z. Which I think means you win :D

I've already checked this out with FC and was told we'll get the miles and TPs we'd get if the flight had gone ahead as planned. However, you'll have to call FC because neither the miles or TPs will post automatically apparently.

However, it will be interesting to see what does happen. Somebody must have recorded what happened somewhere so that the correct miles and TPs can be credited later. Who knows though with VS IT!

All you have to do is show your Flying Club card at check in.
Then after the flight go on line and fill out the missing miles application.
Then after a few weeks repeatedly call the Virgin help line and spend 30 minutes on hold each time before being transferred through various departments that can't help before eventually finding the one person who knows what they are doing and allocates your points which appear on your account within two days.
Simple.

I think it'll most likely be option #1, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that option #2 happens! Definitely present your FC card at check in as Dicky suggested, and call FC after your flight; as you'd have to do anyway (I was told by a member of staff upon booking my last G's that I'd probably need to call to get the miles and TP added, and she acknowledged that their system was bad at dealing with upgraded tickets). If you do find it an unusually long wait, get in touch with their social media guys on FB or Twitter; they sorted my last missing miles issue in under 24 hours :)
