Hello everyone,

A friend and I are heading out to NYC next May to meet up with friends for a girl's weekend away.

Using the recent reward sale, our flights were pretty good prices (one at around £250 and the other at £400). Both economy. Hotels are taken care of thanks to a friend with a gazillion HH points.

As it will be my friends birthday the day we travel, I was looking into the Guest List as a little something special for her (she's the one who's pretty much booked the hotel for nothing for us). She lives in Paddington so a hop and skip from the airport. I'll need to drive in as I'm in Surrey.

My question is, if I book a Guest List for one (me) and use the car to get to the airport, would I then be allowed to guest in my friend at the Clubhouse? I know I sound like a skinflint but just trying to watch the pennies!

Many thanks, in advance!

It doesn't have any exclusion in the t&c, but I would doubt it as the +1 is for UC passengers and AU Card holders.

The T&Cs say entry to the CH for a 3 hour visit but my reading is that it only applies to the Guest and the guest can't then have a further guest.

What you could do is park at LHR (which it looks like you were going to do anyway) then get the train to Paddington and then book the Guest list from your friends house.

You could just say 'I'm spoiling us and have booked us a car' and leave the rest as a surprise.

Cheaper than that would to book a private car from Paddington to LHR and then the #1 lounge - not quite the same but would still give you and your friend a good start. You could even have a bottle of champers in the car on the way!

In a word, No!

I have used the Guestlist, when we flew PE on day flights to NYC. You pay per person. See the prices on:

Not cheap but we thought it worthwhile as we did not need UC seats on a short TATL day flight, PE was more than adequate, but received may UC benefits for a little extra expense. We would do it again certainly. We booked one car journey and used the car at the arrivals end rather than the LHR end, so got in to Manhattan in no time.

Also we were in the Clubhouse for longer than 3 hours ):
