"Earn double Flying Club miles every time you fly in Economy with
Virgin Atlantic on selected routes by 31 December 2014."

You have to book before 30 November. Routes available look to be London, New York, Boston, Washington, Miami, Shanghai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Delhi or Lagos.

Blimey... Economy to NRT would net about 25k miles!

I've registered. We're not booking any flights, but we do have upgraded Y fares in December, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that those might be eligible. It's unlikely, but you never know. Can anyone find the full T&C for this promotion? I can't locate it on my phone.

Quick glance at the T&Cs and it looks like you have to BOOK your travel during the month of November, so tickets already purchased don't seem to qualify.

"c) have booked between 1 and 30 November 2014 and flown by 31 December 2014"

The interesting question is the M-G fare. The verbiage states "...on completion of sectors taken in Y,B,R,L,U,M,V,E,Q,X,N or O booking classes" the word "taken" being intriguing. Purchased in this class or had my butt sat in this class? I might unfortunately think the latter might apply.

Good point, Syrome, but check out para 14:

"For complimentary upgrades awarded by Virgin Atlantic or for upgrades purchased using Flying Club miles, the normal Flying Club mileage earned and bonus mileage earned will only be awarded against the booking class for the applicable full revenue ticket purchased."

That leads me to think the M portion of an M-G upgrade will indeed qualify for double mileage.

And for good measure, para 15:

"Flying Club Silver and Gold members earn an extra 50% and 100% respectively of the base flown Economy mileage as standard, on top of the normal and bonus miles earned on the flight booked. The double Flying Club miles are calculated using the normal cabin mileage earned and does not include the Silver and Gold member tier bonus."

If that is the case, then an M-G flight as Au flying LHR-NRT return earns, er, over 37k miles!

Cheers for posting this up... I've just registered and have a few M fares in the pipework over to the East coast US during December...

Whilst already booked, this is VS IT we are talking about.... I will have to call up to have my M mileage, after the G upgrades, posted to my account. Hopefully as travel will be before the deadline I'll get the bonus too 8D

Not travelled in Economy for a long time but have been tempted. £522 from MAN to NRT later this month is pretty good. So with the double miles, Gold tier bonus plus the 4k miles for the MAN legs, I get a whopping 41,320 miles and 6 tier points! :D

To confirm: this promotion DOES apply to flights that were already booked before it began, and DOES apply to flights booked in Y but upgraded with miles to PE or UC.

So definitely worth registering if you've got an economy ticket booked.

And a +1 to that from me.

M-G upgrades booked in September and flown in November posted with round trip mileage of 20,748 miles per pax on JFK-LHR: (6,916 flown miles + 6,916 100% flown miles Au bonus + 6,916 100% flown miles promotion).

I'm crossing my fingers that this works for us. As my sister and brother-in-law are flying to NRT in Y I asked them to sign up; I'm hoping that with a limited amount of miles collecting (they're not frequent flyers) they'll each have enough for Y redemptions to NYC next year in October. My question is this: I got my two Y to PE upgrade vouchers from my VS CC. Can I use the vouchers on someone else?
