Reward Seats/Upgrades

Hi All,

Can anyone help me better understand how I can use my miles? I have 100K and I cant seem to find how to view available reward seats on the VA website? Also if I book an economy seat but wanted a UC upgrade am I guaranteed to be able to upgrade using Miles? Sorry if someone else has already answered this!

When using the main flight matrix, at them bottom it says how do you want to pay for your flight, money is then default, just select pay with miles and then it will load the reward availability page.

When that opens you will then see a date Calendar and under each date it shows a colour, red is economy, white is PE, purple is UC.

If you buy an upgradable fare, there is no guarantee you will be able to upgrade. There has to be availability in the reward seats for you to upgrade.

Can i also ask on the new site how do you now find the fares, i.e M's, L's, W and S classes. Many thanks Linda

Linda, I think better to use the Google ITA flight matrix to find these specific fare codes.

The current VS site doesn't allow you to search a specific fare code, so either calling them or using ITA matrix if you are willing to understand the basics

I guess its a bit hit and miss. I notice that you can however pay for seats with miles (and pay the fees. It looks like 40,000 gets you a UC fare (+fees) which seems reasonable but I assume one way!
