Depends on which schedule they operate. The 9 is the 9 regardless of whether it's on a 400, 330 or 340.

I mean. Let's be disappointed at the lack of champagne but let's not ever be disappointed about the lack of Lanson. :-P

I think it should be replaced with Pol Roger or Krug or if we are being 'cheap' Veuve pre-2012 before it got acidic.

Any other v-flyer suggestions for great "flying" champagne?

Agree completely - Lanson is about as cheap and nasty as champagne gets. Pol Roger would get my vote, or if they really wanted something English nyetimber - not much more expensive than what they've chosen and better than most champagne under £40 a bottle.

G-VAHH (Dream Girl) has a scheduled delivery date of 23/12/14 with G-VOOH the 16/1/15 and G-VZIG the 17/2/15 according to all things 787. Obviously this is all subject to change. Seen a photo of VAAH which is at the EMC at the moment with scaffolding all up around it so don't know what's going on there...

Remember Boeing were apparently late delivering Birthday Girl though hence the removal from service for extra crew training flights around the UK at the moment.

First view of Birthday Girl passing overhead on her way to East Midlands this morning as VS 850T. looks so much better than the 787-8.

It she on training flights today? She's just left Prestwick 1245 (still a favourite for airlines to practice touch-and-gos) and will be landing at East Midlands 1330 as VIR852T.

So is G-VZIG being introduced to the fleet before the retirement of G-VBIG? I didn't think that they could have more than one aircraft with the last two letters of the reg the same.

Unless G-VBIG is leaving earlier than I thought... Feb 2015 isn't that far off.

I think mattyp meant the I and the g in zig and big ,isn't it the last two letters that are displayed from where the front landing gear is deployed ?

Yes Blacky, that's what I was getting at. I'm fairly sure that all airlines have the last two letters of the registration printed on the front landing gear. I know that VS, BA and possibly others also have this printed on the top of the tail.
BA identify their aircraft internally by the last two letters, for example G-XLEA would be known as Echo Alpha, within BA. G-CIVS would be known as Victor Sierra etc etc and no two registrations end with the same letters.

I'm not sure why this rule is in place other than identification purposes internally within the airline?

Soooo... my flights to IAD on 21st December & 5th January have been changed from a 787-9 to an A340-600.

Anyone know why?

I think the next dreamliner which is due is going to be late delivered and won't be able to serve this route until the new year

Boeing have been late with delivery for Birthday Girl and I know they've also been late delivering the 787-9s for United so I suspect most of the deliveries will be later than first stated.
