Just booked a trip to Orlando next Sept. Upper on the outbound leg and PE inbound. Different luggage allowances for each leg, 3 cases out and only 2 coming back. is this correct or does the outbound allowance cover both legs. Sorry if this is a newbie type question but we may well need the extra allowance doing back. Thanks for any help.

Your allowance is dictated by the cabin you're flying in I'm afraid so it's 3 outbound, 2 inbound. And, crucially, remember the PE weight limit is only 23kg per bag whereas in UC it's 32kg. So the UC allowance is actually more than double the PE allowance.

But remember if any of you are Flying Club gold you get an extra bag per sector, regardless of cabin. Otherwise it's £55 for an additional bag, if booked in advance.

I must admit when I can fly UC I enjoy the extra weight limit but still stick to two cases each. I would find three just too much to handle.
Orlando has an odd system where you collect your cases then have to go up an escalator to the transit point. You do have a choice of putting them on a bus and meeting them at the main terminal but I've never trusted it.
I was wandering through Debenhams the other day and stopped by the luggage. The assistant came up to me and asked if he could help.
Me thinking of the struggle I had earlier this year with two cases and hand luggage I say, "I'd like a piece of hand luggage that I can carry on to an aircraft. I want it to have wheels and handle, but also straps so I can use it as a rucksack.
We have this sir, he says and produces exactly what I have specified. With the added bonus that it was in the sale down to £40 from £130.
So next Feb as I reach the escalator at MCO my hand luggage will transform and off I go up the escalator with a 30kg suitcase in each hand and my carry on luggage on my back with Mrs D to manage the two slightly smaller cases.
Enjoy your trip.

Thanks all for the help. The escalator post customs at Orlando can be awkward but we usually manage. Reviewing our cases now, lost wheel on one last trip, so thanks Dick D for the info.

Dicky, I am in awe! A 30kg case in each hand and carry on luggage too. It was all I could do to get a 21kg, 4 wheeled case from the South Coast to LGW last month. Are you for hire?!!

Dicky, not only am I in awe of your baggage-toting capabilities, I'm also given ammunition to argue with OH, son and DIL with whom we stay en route and son and DIL with whom we stay in the States, all of whom chorus that I pack far too much - and that's with ONE suitcase each :0

I only physically carry them a very short distance and with my new carry on in rucksack configuration it should be easy.
We will have about 100kg between us of which I imagine 65kg will belong to Mrs D who would, if I were stupid enough to challenge her, say something like, "you want me to look pretty don't you?"
