Well, on my recent flight in the BA First cabin on a 747 (and yes, I do know that an A380 is bigger and that the First cabins are small) all the passengers were connecting - some to other UK airports, others to Europe and of course, me to Ireland. If it's like that in First, then you can be sure that that scenario is being replicated throughout the aircraft and indeed, while at check-in I overheard the check-in agent asking a passenger in another line if he wished to be checked all the way through to CDG

VS also have to take into account the flight crews too. A lot of the 747 pilots have been with the company for years and are heading towards retirement. While some will re-train to the 787, does it make financial sense to re-train those that have only a couple of years left?

They have far more Airbus pilots so the A350-10 make more sense on the pilot front.

DL is in Skyteam. That alliance has hardly got a stellar cast of members. Question here is whether basket cases such as Alitalia would add anything to VS?
