In a word - No.

Spending VS miles on SQ became almost impossible in the last few years of them owning 49% of VS, even then you could only (in theory) redeem for flights, not upgrades.

They are still showing as a spending partner on the VS website - http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en/fl ... lines.html

The reality is that availability is almost non-existent, especially in premium cabins.

Best of luck trying - please let us know if you have any success.

Don't forget...

Redemptions in Business Class and First Class on their A380, 777-300ER and A340-500 aircraft types are not available.

I've given up with the VS spending partners over to that side of the world and with the VS route network pulling out of the East I'm switching carriers.

I've managed to snag quite a good deal in F and J on Emirates for a SIN, KL and PEN run. Worth looking at as EK and EY were coming in a hell of a lot cheaper than SQ.

I've found it impossible to do the same with Star Alliance, never found a Singapore Airlines business flight to SG available.
Always had to connect somewhere else to travel in a Business cabin.

SQ are a very half hearted member of *A.
They do not allow mile reward seats using partner miles - only economy.
The chance of a miles upgrade is zero.
The chance of a miles seat in anything other than economy is zero.
Not really sure why theory bother staying in *A (or why *A allow them to stay)

Don't agree with the chance of a miles seat in anything other than economy is Zero. I have managed it on two occasions, for 2 different trips, I did need to route through Beijing and Bangkok.
This was with my United Mileage account.

You are quite correct - they do offer regional mileage seats in J but I have never seen long haul.
Was your long haul sector with SQ as well ?
If so then you did really well.

The J seats were Singapore to Beijing on one trip and Singapore to Bangkok.
Thinking about it, I've not managed to secure a J flight INTO SG !
