Hello All

So - finally I have enough points saved in FC to upgrade from ECO to UC return for Mrs Armstrong and myself..! As I am sure you can appreciate this will be very exciting for myself - and I hope change the way we fly from here on out..!

What I was after was the best way to bag myself a pair of these bad boys..! Would booking ECO and upgrading be best, or PE and upgrading?

Also, does a pair of reward seats give you CH access - as this will no doubt dictate the flight times (afternoon ones if yes for lots of time in the CH..!)

Thanks for any help you can offer!

When I do it I buy upgradeable economy and use miles to upgrade usually in stages. Upgrade straight away to PE and then when upper becomes available out get them, then check for the return and get them. I check several times a day for availability and try to be flexible on dates. For next year I ended up adding a day to my holiday because no UC rewards were appearing on the Saturday but they popped up on the Sunday. It did cost £100 to change the date but I think it's worth it.
As for clubhouse, yes you are entitled.
I found on MCO that UC out were available about six weeks after initial ticket release.
Best of luck

If you know the dates and Destination you want to fly to the best thing to do is ring FC and they can go through all the options for you and work out what's best .i spent over an hour doing this once as I was chopping and changing things about ,it really is no trouble for them .
And yes you are entitled to use the CH on G's

Thanks V-Flyers..!

I guess the order of the day will be a reminder set to call the FC to check the availability... I know the dates, but to be honest there pretty flexible - I wont book a hotel until I have the flights. Mrs Armstrong on the other hand thinks is a bit strange as its a holiday not a trip on VS Metal we are paying for, but what does she know!

You'll get the miles and TPs on the original fare prior to the upgrade (plus any bonuses due to you for being Au or Ag). Say, you buy M and upgrade to G, you'll earn the miles and TPs on the M part of the ticket.

You can check what you'd earn in Economy or PE here: http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/fr ... /index.jsp

Just don't choose either of the "lowest" options and remember to plug in your VS FC level.
