I think following Monarch's change of direction (ditching long haul and charters) VS has decided to return.

Glad Tobago is back on the cards. A bit of good news

Awesome - never thought of this as a destination, but glad there is a new route, or indeed addition.
So why did Monarch 'release' this and does it mean that we can expect more destinations from VS as they look towards the future?

They are undergoing "restructuring" last I heard, with voluntary layoffs and pay cuts as well as divesting some of their fleet. Seems their long haul operation was also part of it.
Honestly can't see them competing strictly as a low cost intra EU carrier. EZY and Ryanair surely could (and have) run them out of business quickly in that market.
I love VS retuning to more Carribbean destinations, but as I'm a US based flyer, it's easier to get to from the mainland and I can fly VS way more easily to a mainland US destination. Maybe I can swing one way to/from London like we're doing to MCO in a few weeks.
