Hey all. Long time lurker and occasional poster...I really need to post more! Anyway...

I am due to fly on Thai Airways 917 (LHR-BKK) tomorrow evening along with three other family members. Whilst I was able to check them all in, the check in repeatedly tell me I am not allowed to check in online and must report to the check in desk at the airport. So, this left me a little bit worried but I know sometimes it's...just the way it is.

HOWEVER...I've just seen that today's TG917 was cancelled. Could it possible be that they're going to kick me off the flight in favour of these passengers? I'm travelling with my brother and parents on a family holiday so I'm a bit worried - I don't want to be kicked off and have to wave my family off on holiday!

Thanks in advance for any of your input - I'm really just curious regarding any similar experiences across any airlines!

Could be several reasons why you cant do OLCI from ticketing issues through to being selected for a random passport check. It does not automatically mean you will be denied boarding.

If they have oversold then they have to ask for volunteers first before starting involuntary deniying boarding (IDB) people. Either way they will offer compensation. It is 600euro for IDB under EU regulations for the ex-UK leg.

For a voluntary one they can offer anything they like and may negotiate.
