Well I've never used that icon before but I've done it, although the Mrs doesn't know yet..

I've just booked return business flights to Vegas in Sept next year with BA out of Dublin, total cost for 2 people 2,220k which is less than 1 person in upper on the VS43.

Will massively miss Virgin, especially the clubhouse and the return trip will be a hassle but I'd rather take the return to DUB rather than risk having BA miles confiscated plus I couldn't get any other flight other than a return from LHR so bags would be checked through anyway.

I was prepared to pay for reserving seats but having been on the BA website there doesn't seem to be an option on the Vegas flight but I could on the DUB legs... I booked via ebookers, any ideas why?

Very good price! Not sure regarding the seating, sometimes they can be a bit slow with the processing of the flight with the airline so you might have to be patient

I booked an Ex Dub Club world fare to San Juan via Miami, and the booking seat option was available immediately though I booked direct on the BA site, at 84 euros per person each direction to choose the seats (102 for upper deck) I think I'll be taking my chances at check in!

Had no idea it was so expensive to book seats, if it had been £25-30 I'd have done it

What is the problem with being 6ft or taller. I fly CW regularily and find the seat much more comfortable than UC and if you can get row 62 and 64 upstairs the window seats have at least 7 feet of legroom. I am 6'6" and its never been a problem in any CW cabin although I have to admit the roof kind is a lot lower on the upper deck of a A380 window seat but that would apply to all airlines that operate that aircraft.

Simple: The way CW is *currently* designed, means the entire length of the flat bed is exactly 72".

Further, unlike UCS, there is no room to "add" by hanging over the ottoman etc, as you are wedged between the back headboard and the seat in-front - both effectively become walls.

Very common problem and they get regular feedback on it (having discussed it with our BA account manager) - surprised at 6'6" you're OK with it. Having 2 rows upstairs on *some* aircraft that are "OK", compared to the other thousands of CW seats that are sold for the exact same premium price-tag is not a good enough solution in my book.

For a *business* class, having a 2-4-2 config (with the need to clamber over strangers to get out of your coffin), BA really are behind when it comes to the hard product now. Compared to VS (even the UCDS gives a better night's sleep), EK, GA, DL (new), AC, NZ, SQ, etc etc etc - in sleeping terms, they lose.

...but I will give you that the seat (in seat mode, only) is better than VS - certainly for relaxing and watching TV. But then, so is even MH's and I've flown with them 20 times this year. ):

Did you check VS from Dublin to same location? They were close to the fares ex-Dub for some places (1200 vs 1300).

I'm on a TP run on the babybus for 3 days in Vegas in January, and the two of us are heading for Honolulu next August (for 1.3K pp).
