One of the (few) benefits of Silver FC Memberships is
Premium Check In - You'll have full use of our Premium Economy Check In area, whatever class you're traveling in. Less queuing and more relaxation, exactly how journeys should be.

Does this mean if I am Silver I can take my whole family (5 of us in total) via the PE check desks when we fly E this Christmas

So I know it says that for Silver but twice this year on both legs of my last trip I was directed BACK to the regular Economy line.

On our last UC trip from Heathrow, we were also directed to the Ec check in as it was the only one free. We are both Silver, there was no difference and in fact the agent seemed to be better than most of the UC desks we have checked in recently.

The one we had in Vancouver last year was absolutely abysmal . :0

Unless the economy line was much shorter (which can happen!), I think that's very poor of them. Use of the PE line is one of the few Ag benefits. I might have been inclined to write and politely complain about this...

I'm pretty sure Gold members get priority UC baggage handling, I flew back from LAS in March I was in UC and I was travelling with a couple of friends one in PE and one in EC and we all had priority baggage UC tags.

Only AU members get baggage priority as those bags *should* get loaded in the Upper Class baggage bins so therefore come off first.

Priority baggage is always hit and miss though on VS.

AG members get zero baggage priority.

On my admittedly, limited experience of flying UC, the UC check in has always had the longest queues.

And then I discovered DTCI. :)

Once at EWR I was checked in at the Y desk because there was a family with more suitcases than even DragonLady and Jackie could manage to fill (yes THAT much) clogging the whole area up.

Didn't notice any loss of service though.

Unless things have changed the PE area at LHR looks far nicer than the UC desks.

I must have been lucky. Past few times I've travelled LGW-MCO bags have been tagged as premium and once managed to get a 'premium gatwick' sticker in boarding pass. Luck of the draw I guess.
