easyJet have been trialling a frequent flyer scheme amongst 15,000 regular flyers of the airline.

FWIW, I have used easyjet for the past 4 or 5 years for flights to Germany 2 or 3 times a year and have never had a bad experience. Going again at Christmas so I suppose the phrase 'never had a bad experience' is now in jeopardy. :P

When I was doing a weekly commute up to Edinburgh Speedy Boarding was capped at 20% of the seats. Then that seemed to creep up, and once they introduced their annual card with automatic Speedy Boarding benefits some Monday mornings it could be nearly 100% of the flight in the Speedy Boarding queue.

I did used to enjoy this scenario. Mr / Ms Important arrives, with multiple Gold cards attached to their luggage, often barking into the phone at some hapless PA receiving a roasting for having dared to book them on an LCC from Stansted. On arrival they would park themselves at the head of the queue, and when it was pointed out to them that there were many in the queue would respond "I'm Speedy Boarding!". This would then provoke a Spartacus like chorus of "I'm Speedy Boarding", "I'm Speedy Boarding" from down the queue with the result that Mr / Ms Important would stride to the back dialing their PA to give them another roasting....

I love easyJet now. About three years ago something changed in that airline's corporate mentality, and they are a pleasure to fly with.

In less than two weeks I get to test another lo-co who have had a 'road to Damascus' conversion when it comes to customer service. I can hardly wait.

Only flew with EasyJet once, and I have to say that booking, checking in and then travelling was an absolute pleasure. I was travelling from Barcelona to Lyon, and the crew were French, but had impeccable customer service skills. The Buy on Board food prices seemed expensive for what they were, but I work in the railway industry so we can hardly talk there!!

The only thing that lacked in the whole experience was two factors: poor leg room, I am 6'6 and the crappy terminals at both ends of the route!

The legroom seems to have got better with the newer planes and thinner seats IMO
I had a new one outbound and an old one inbound in the summer to and from cyprus and really noticed the difference

If you want crappy terminals ColOrd, fly Ryanair, my German friends in Bremen, where you can only fly direct from UK with Ryanair, refer to it as wooden class. They do nothing to spruce up their terminal, it is just like a hangar and all the pipes and conduits are visible, and it's often cold!

Easyjet sure have upped their game in recent years.

Good comments about easyJet are very welcome thanks. We want to visit friends in the Dordogne next spring/summer and easyJet to Bergerac is the likely choice but I was a bit concerned till I read all this. OTOH we survived United Airlines last month: after that desperately basic experience anything else can only be better. I hope!

I'm 6'5 and just about fit comfortably, the extra inch on the seat pitch helps a lot compared to TOM or Ryanair

I have flown with easyJet just the once, several years ago, Liverpool to Amsterdam. Was the most unpleasant flight I have ever taken. I swear I still have floaters in my visual field after being half-blinded by the vivid orange everywhere you looked ;)

The queues I saw at LGW for the easyJet flights this summer were v-e-r-y long (BA had no queue).

But at least they are not Ryanair :D

I see very little to differentiate BA and EZY now.

The food on BA euro traveller is abysmal most of the time, BA charge bag fees, seat fees and their leg room is now about the same as EZY now they've added more seats to the airbus fleet.
