OK, big thing for me, trip to Bangalore, India courtesy of my employer.

Upside: I've never been to India before, it will be excellent to meet people with whom I have been in communication with over the phone for the past couple of years

Downside: I have to fly economy, and the BA direct flight is sold out. Options are coming down to;

Lufthansa via Frankfurt
Air India via Delhi
Jet via Mumbai

Etihad and Emirates are in the mix, but are 50% more than the above and my employers are notorious for the low value they put on employee's personal comfort ("what, you don't have status?")

Which of the above is the least worst option?

I would say Lufthansa via Frankfurt in terms of service, they're very good and consistent. I would regards Jet as the best Indian airline from what I've heard from friends though I don't know from personal experience. As Jet are VS partners this may be more appealing for using/collecting miles. Could you not also try looking at a mix of VS and Jet via Delhi (or Mumbai if flying before its cut)?

Just checked out skyscanner (admittedly don't know your dates) but the cheapest flights were VS + Jet via Delhi

Interesting points and thanks for the advice. Can't mix airlines unless I have a compelling schedule reason, which I don't... B)

Least worst IMHO would be LH via FRA
