Dammit, they've done the 1K pp to Vegas again over christmas and new year, and I'm travelling tomorrow so can't take advantage of it. For the first time I've not been sitting waiting for this for a short term christmas jaunt, and they bloody well do it...

I assume VS won't match like it did 2011-12.

Having looked at several dates over the offer period I could not find one that was a direct flight for that money, they were all long routes, either NYC or Chicago or Philadelphia etc then a few hours or more then connecting to another flight to Vegas, the shortest was 16 hours. As VS would have to do the same with DL maybe they couldn't match the prices.

If you don't mind a roundabout way for the saving then BA is good to go.

£1007 sale fares to Africa and Asia are up (no US), but range of dates is a bit limited. Shame I'd already booked BA CW to the U.S. over NY :(!

Oh yes they are! (Well to NYC they are).
Get in quick cause these are gonna fly off the shelves, they have also reduced the miles plus money fares in upper too.
Was in PE, LHR-to JFK flying over Xmas have just upgraded to Upper for the princely sum of £206! Making the return fare in upper just over £1K.
The guy in Crawley had to check three times and also with his manager as he couldn't believe it.
There is nothing advertising this on the website yet, but do some dummy booking and you will see.

I can absolutely vouch for this, I've just had my entire fare (outbound and return) from LHR to ORD upgraded from PE to Upper for a mere £67... Similarly to Jaydun I asked the rep to confirm probably twice over!! Get on this if you can!

Plus, thanks to the DL connections being upgraded to Business, that's 16 TPs for roughly £1,200... 8D

Fares to NYC in UC on VS metal for £986 return on expedia...

I don't understand where have these fares come from, what are they matching? And why aren't they advertising them!?

Currently the search flights function on the VS website is down for me.

When will this sale end?

Did you get vs metal ? ,when I looked at it earlier the 11/12 were available on the 29th dec / 5 jan

Yes I did, thanks. Took me a couple of goes but 11/12 out on 30th and back on 2nd (family and end of school holidays dictating the dates). 789 out, 330 back. I'm pretty sure when I looked this morning I could only get Delta metal.

I was almost tempted to the Dark Side with their combo flight / hotel package, but given the cost of seat assignment on BA and Mrs PJH's discount on hotels I think we came out evens...

Enjoy your trip tomorrow! Corsas rock. I will be at LHR myself, but mixing it with the public in T2...

I couldn't get the fare through the VS website, only Expedia....By far the cheapest UC deal I've ever gotten with just straight money.

B*gger! Could have got the same for my Boston trip. Never mind, I was pleased enough with £23 more per person...

Wow, that is a stunning deal. Normal non-sale price is about £2,500!

Sorry to go a little OT here, but on my VS booking, Expedia have combined my first and middle name ?| ....I thought I may have made a mistake in my rush to book, however they are separate and correct on the original Expedia booking...Will I still get charged 30 quid for a name change even though it appears to be a system error?

You'll be fine. I have mine like that all the time! However you will need to ring FC after the flight to add the miles and tier points to your account as the booking merges the first and middle names and VS IT can't make it match.

Awesome, thanks. I was just about to book an ex-DUB for 1260, now direct for nearly 300 less, thank you v-flyer for bringing this to my attention! Still strange it's only on expedia...

Looks as if they are pricing both legs at the £493 or so I was seeing for the return leg on VS. The outbound being £513 or so...
