Hi,

I've an ex-DUB UC trip to LAX in the new year (beats my regular company specified WT+ BA seat / price hands down). When I've previously flown VS UC out of LAX I've used the Air New Zealand Lounge and the VS site still suggests this is the lounge for VS008 http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en/th ... unges.html

BUT Air NZ look to have moved to Tom Bradley as of 2nd December '14 http://www.airnewzealand.co.uk/internat ... nal-lounge

Does anyone know if this means VS008 passengers will now have to use the Virgin America America Loft (T3) as the VS024 passengers do?

Thanks,

Matt

PS I've posted my itinerary / happy to guest someone into the lounge for VS7 (3rd Jan) and VS8 (8th Jan)

Yes it appears NZ have (finally) moved out of T2 so presumably the Koru lounge has closed.

I don't know but I'd guess you're right in assuming that VS will use the VX Loft in T3 (and bus pax to the aircraft) until the new Clubhouse opens.

They've not yet said when that will be but my guess would be late March, to coincide with the return of the VS24.

As per normal the VS site is full of inconsistencies (being charitable rather than just saying plain wrong!)

This page in the LAX airport guide states

As we eagerly await the opening of our brand new Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in LAX, there will be some temporary changes to our current use of shared lounges.

All Upper Class passengers will be offered the swish Virgin America Loft.

Whereas the more shared lounges page states (my bolding)

All Upper Class passengers travelling on the VS8 will continue to use the Air New Zealand lounge located in Terminal 2.
All Upper Class passengers travelling on the VS24 will now be offered the swish Virgin America Loft.

No wonder people get annoyed and staff confused!

A few tips if you do end up at the Loft - the food options are almost invisible and the drinks are limited but plentiful. Unless VS has beefed this up (hmm!). In the past VS UC passengers were offered a food token but once you're airside in T3 at LAX it is cramped, crowded, and the bars and restaurants are limited and very busy. It is not a premium experience. The main terminal area in T2 is not good either. When we were through a month ago there was a lot of renovation work too which made it even worse.

I'd not plan on getting there early until the Clubhouse opens.

Thanks for the tips ... We will get from HNL around 2pm in T7, moving to T2 for the 5.15pm VS8 flight ... Shouldn't have too much time to spare ...
