VS005 LHR to MIA 9th December Clubhouse Invite

Forgive me if ive posted this in the wrong location. Im flying on VS005 to Miami on the 9th of December and would be forever grateful if someone was able to invite me into the clubhouse - i have the miles to cover the cost of the invite.

Welcome dbassin. But oh dear, you have asked the one question that tends to be a bit contentious on this forum. You may have noticed. Rather like asking what people think of children on planes over on FT.

Anyway, I wish you luck in your quest (I personally have no issue with your chutzpah, given my office is awash with people asking me for large bonuses right now!). However I'd definitely not try to compound your 'felony' by attempting to bribe anyone with a bottle of scotch, and if all else fails and the CH isn't busy, they have been known to sell access on the door for £60. Just make sure you are well dressed. A cravat and monocle will probably be a step in the right direction there.

A big kerfuffle over nothing if you ask me, its a business class lounge invite which costs the princely sum of diddly squat for christs sake. Beggars belief how it can be worth such acrimony.

But the Clubhouse isn't merely a business class lounge and to assume an invite from another passenger is a tad presumptuous! As has been said already you can always pay £60 on the day for entry if there's availabilty

No no the only presumption that has been made is your assumption of my presumption. I asked kindly if someone were willing to invite and I left it to the discretion of the invitee to withheld said invite if they are that way inclined. Some people on here need to lighten up, as the old adage goes, if you have nothing nice to say, better say nothing at all.

Also I was under the impression the invite costs 10k miles?

Since when have VS allowed people to use their miles to pay for CH access? I don't think they ever have.

How do you propose to transfer the miles to your host?

It would cost you £90 to transfer the miles.

That seams rather a lot that you are willing to pay. Especially when you said

Your 'host' on the day takes responsibility for their guests behaviour in the CH (VS records who has guested someone in and their name). Many people simply aren't prepared to take the risk of inviting someone in that they don't know even if they don't sit next to each other or communicate.

No offense intended, but anyhow none of these people you refer to are able to invite me. All they want to do is have their say, something which I did not ask for - see post 1.

Honestly my expectation was that if no one wanted to invite me, there would be no replies and my thread would quickly fall down the pages into the abyss. Ironically no one here is even able to invite me if they wanted.

Right but they did not answer my question did they? I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Evidently I came to the wrong place, my expectations were a stark contrast to reality.

Im flying back on the 16th of December on VS006 in upper class and if its possible I would naturally be happy to invite anyone into the shared lounge at miami international, although from what I read most may prefer to wait at the gate.

Oh please - this is turning into one of those threads that I start reading with interest then get more and more depressed as the post develops . I want to shout : enough ! Let it drop.

You're very welcome ( it's probable that your intended sarcasm is wasted on me...).
My advice ( after welcoming you) in post 2 was for you to put your itinerary in the relevant section ( advice given again by Pete in a subsequent post ). Possibly my poor eyesight, but I can't see your itinerary there.
I don''t think anyone has been in the least bit hostile towards you , but given your general attitude I wouldn't be rushing to offer an invite.

It seems this thread is just going round in circles so I suggest that unless anyone is willing and able to offer the OP an invite, then no further posts are necessary.

OP, as has been suggested numerous times, it would be worth posting in the itinerary forum to increase your chance of an invite.

And just to clarify, this is not a public forum and nobody owns a thread, it is a site and forum owned and run by Pete, with set rules which are enforced by the moderating team.
