Luggage priorisation in Vegas not working...

I regard the priority luggage part of the PE/UC experience quite a vital part of the product, I've not had problems before (except airport problems like Cancun stopping immigration for an hour for no reason).

However, last PE to Vegas, we stood about 40 minutes waiting for the luggage. There is prioritisation, because the crew luggage came out first and was sorted quite quickly. Then at least half the economy luggage came through, and eventually the PE and UC luggage.

Which leads to... Big queue to get through the other bit of immigration (another 15 minutes), queue for taxis (another 10 minutes). Anyone found this with Vegas? Complaint to VS? I know its not their fault, but they can perhaps give grief to the LAS baggage handlers...

(Also for some reason we were told across PE that we didn't need to fill in the declaration form by the staff, and weren't given one. Which led to delays in the passport part of immigration because we were being sent back. Now that one I definitely might complain about).

I think this was a UK issue and the way the bins were loaded If the priority bin was loaded out of sequence i.e not last then it can't be the first one off at the other end.

I would contact them about the customs form though as its pretty much standard practice to hand them out. I always asked for mine at check in and filled it in on the ground rather than struggling to do it on board.

Being honest I have found the priority luggage to always have been a bit hit and miss.
Some of the time its there and I go, other times it seems, as tontybear has stated, that it seems more due to how the bins are loaded. I cannot see the ground staff looking thru the containers just to locate the UC and PE bags, they just want to get the bags off ASAP and on to the next aircraft.

As for the Customs declaration forms, do they not give them out at the check-in desk and then normally the CC just come round and check. I normally have more than one. For some reason I cannot complete one, ever after all these years, without making a mistake somewhere!!!

We checked online (first time ever) so wouldn't pick it up there, but never been given one there before.

As for the luggage, its the first time I've ever had it happen (for instance on the way back, it was already on the belt after I had my usual refusal at automated passports).

Since the move to T3 in LAS the priority luggage has definitely been hit and miss, seem to wait longer for any luggage to start coming thru as well but maybe that's down to the logistics/distance from the plane etc..

I know it part of the perk we are paying for but then again it's alway good to be landing back in LV so it's a little niggle rather than a bother for me
