It looks like I'll be experiencing the dream suite for the first time!
A few days ago I checked my seat requests and noticed I'd been moved then realised the aircraft had changed!! Oh the horror!
I've requested 9A and 8A. There's lots of threads on the "best" seats on a A330 in upper, but has anyone got anything new to add?
Wasn't sure if I should move further down.
Not bothered about the no window in 9 and I'll be using the bar, so might as well sit there rather than annoy someone trying to sleep/work. Ill be the first to arrive at the bar and last to leave :o)
I'm on the VS9 and a 747 serves this route usually...just unlucky I guess!

Well the positive is that you will get to experience the UCDS but as I'm sure you are aware darren the UC cabin in an A333 definitely isn't comparable to the A zone of a 744

I agree, at least I can form an opinion for myself afterwards!
I've lucked out on 747's the past few years!!!

Whilst the A333 quite often operates the 3/4, the 9/10 has been 100% a 744 for the past three months.

Every time I've checked since booking the flight the 9 has always been on a 747. I've yet to see a A330 on the route

Lol! Having chicken and not beef is trying something different!
I picked the 9 for the 747... I've voiced my distress on Twitter...and was called satan by some random! I need to accept my fate! Lol y)

Darren,

I regret that I can't seem to find a way to put a black border around my post, but I just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time.

With deepest sympathy
RC

P.S. 8A was about as good as I have found myself...

Never mind having a chicken, you'll be fine on the 330. It's not great but you're going to be at the bar a lot so you'll be ratarsed and won't care about the hard uncomfortable bed, or the fact you have to convert it by hand (although a nice hot CC helps).

Salt > wound > sting. But you'll be fine I promise.

Argh!!!! After reading this, I checked my March/April flights and VS8 has unfortunately been changed from a 747 to an A340-600 for our flight home - Damn!! :(!

Finger crossed it will change back to a 747 but what are the chances??

Also noticed the departure time has changed, resulting in having only 1hr and 5 min from arrival in LHR to departure for DUB and that includes changing terminals. Lucky we are not intending to make that final leg...

MCT is 90 mins I believe for terminal changes, so you would have an illegal connection which MAY get flagged at some point - probably check in, which may lead to issues.

Sounds to me like a good reason to ask for the bags to be "short checked" to LHR, in the unlikely event that you miss your connection.... so you have all your toiletries & clothes available [at home!].
