Looks like its testing flaps and slats as it was going at 165 knots at one point in the hold a couple of minutes ago

The flight deck crew are certainly going to earn their money today. I know they train over and over for things like this in the simulator... but it's for real now. Fingers crossed all goes well.

That plane is certainly not going onto Vegas today.

This is why they go into the simulators every 6 months or so to keep it in there mind as this type of emergency requires specialist skill that pilots normally won't use in there lifetime

A Virgin Atlantic passenger plane "is preparing to implement a non-standard landing" at Gatwick airport because of "a technical issue with one of the landing gears", the airline has said.

Looks like just 3 main landing gear then.

Just flown over the house, starboard outer gear still tucked in the wing.

According to Surrey Mirror it suffered a serious technical issue, what that means who knows. I take it is still in the air ?

Plane landed safely which is great news. Now whether they get them out today on another plane is another matter. Hot Lips is not flying today according to the which aircraft tracker.

If they all off to Vegas .... Keep away from the tables.... Used up all the luck !
