Flight numbers

Hiya

Anyone any idea why Virgin has recently renumbered it's VS4/VS9/VS46 as VS5401/5403/5402 respectively, as seen on flightradar24 aircraft database? It is still using VS4C/VS10K/VS46Z as callsigns. I was wondering whether anyone knew what was going on?

I thought VS54** flights were Delta-operated code shares.

ie the VS5401 is the DL401.

Ah maybe.

When I was having a look at some of the acft flight logs on flightradar24 it is showing them as using the Delta codes on the return rotation then. Bizarre, because they are still using the VS4/9/45 on the outbound journey =/
