Hi all,
Not sure if I should have posted this in the main 787 thread or not, so apologies if so.
Myself and my partner are looking to head to NYC mid December 2015 using miles for UC seats.
Doing a quick search on reward flights for early December is showing that some flights already have no UC availability (I guess this could change?) but I'm assuming I should probably book up flights asap (once they become available for mid Dec).
Ideally, we would love to fly on a 787 to try it out. Can anyone make an educated guess which flight numbers will be changing to 787's when they become available?
If not, I am tempted to book a 747 flight as I have flown UC in a 747 before.
Thanks

December seats have only just started to be released for sale (the 333 day advance) and VS do not always release reward seats at the same time as revenue seats. Just as the cheaper fare buckets don't always get immediately released either.

As to the 787 well they could put that on any of the flights (or more depending on the delivery schedule) but my rule of thumb is to book a flight that either suits your journey to LHR or your onward arrangements when you get to NYC rather than trying to be on a particular plane type.

When I booked this years flights to MCO I had to wait about
two months and one week after release day to get UC reward seats out bound.

I've just booked some reward seats to NYC in September and VS001 (LHR-EWR departs 17:10) is coming up as a 789 (so I booked this flight due to it being the Dreamliner, itll prob change but hey ho!)
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comments!
Booked my UC reward flights this evening, flying out on the VS111 Sat 5th Dec, returning on the VS46 on 10th Dec.
I used the seat selection tool, it saved my seats on the outbound flight, but doesn't seem to have done on the return - maybe it's as these flights have only been opened today? I'll log back in and check tomorrow.
Anyway, providing they don't change the aircraft, I will get to experience the dream suite as well as the nose of the 747 (which I have done once before).
Only 330 days to go!
