Cheers for the reminder.

Just back from Twilight checkin for VS43 (no queues) so will watch with interest just in case I ever have 1.2m miles spare for a trip to Necker :-)

Just finished watching it... definitely somewhere to put on the "to visit" list. May need a lottery win or some serious promotion first though. £30k for a week all-inclusive, unless you can get lucky in a charity auction like that couple from Ohio.

Serious question - how do you book the island with points ?? 1.2M I think TimC said. Is it just a case of phoning crawley towers ??

Firstly contact Virgin Limited Edition to see what dates are available for celebration weeks explaining that you plan to use miles. They will not know your miles status but will just confirm if there is availability. Then contact Flying Club and ask to redeem your miles for a Necker Island stay. It took around 24 Hours for the Flying club to process our request and then we received an email confirmation and PDF vouchers. I forwarded that to the Limited Edition guys and it was booked. Not the best use of miles but certainly not the worse.

Yup one week all inclusive. would be billed at USD28,800 per couple if paying. obviously fights extra. As i said not the best use of miles but after stock piling for 10 years, and then the withdrawal of the NRT route (where nearly all my redemptions flights would have been on) it made sense to use them before they get devalued in some way by the Delta tie up.

Didn't notice that in the reviews....

When do you go? (just so I can get the goggles to hide the green eyed envy... :) )

LGW to ANU on VS (miles again) and then it gets a bit tricky. ANU to EIS (Tortola) by LIAT but times are really not great and most flights are not direct.
So it may have to be a private charter and then advertise the seats that we dont need. I understand that shared charters are quite popular in the Caribbean, but i haven't looked in to it too much yet.

Half was flying NRT LHR 4 times a year for 8 years whilst living in Tokyo + some regional flights on singapore/malaysia, and the rest was Amex,(JPY100= 1 point) so depending on the exchange rate it averaged about 1.8x better than the UK reward scheme.

Having watched if ourselves, it does look pretty unreal.

We were very much of the opinion that if we were ever fortunate enough to go (please euro millions!) we would have to hire out the whole place to ourselves. Fair to say some of the other guests didnt really come across as my cup of tea.
