I'm looking at flights to the US. There are some that are now split operator flights in Upper(VS) / Business(DL). On the VS website it ssys "This booking will earn 5 TP's" rather than 10 I would expect. I'm Using Z class fares as an example.
Does anyone know if the other (5)TP's are earnt when on DL operated services, as per a normal code share, or are there some exceptions?

Yes, you do earn the same TPs and miles. Also any status bonuses (i.e. 100% extra miles for Au) are applicable for DL flights.

VS/DL codeshare TPs also seem to post to FC as VS metal TPs (as opposed to say, DL US domestic which post as partner TPs), therefore apparently being eligible for Gold for Life, if you happen to be going for that.

I moved the the US two years ago - flying DL domestic has proved very beneficial for me with regards to earning tier points and accelerating that Gold Card renewal. Booking a first/business domestic flight well in advance can earn 6tps for no more than $500 dollars. I've done it twice LGA-MIA.

What is also very nice, is that DL tier points and miles are always posted very quickly to your FC account. I flew VX last week and they still haven't posted to my account. Whenever I fly DL the TP and miles are always posted within a day or so.

My DL points haven't posted yet from my flights back from Vegas on 03 Jan.

There was a late notice change that meant we wouldn't make our connection in SEA so we were re routed via LAX so maybe that has something to do with it.

I'm flying BNA - LGA (va ATL) next month to watch NYC FC's home MLS opener. First class and 12 tier points for $584!!

This plus my Virgin Black CC spend plus BNA - PHX via LAX (for work in EC - boo!) will get my AU status before SFO - LHR!

Just in case something goes wrong, BNA - SFO (also via ATL) in FC for $900. More than double EC, but the return departing SFO at 2355 hrs with a more comfy seat will be well worth it. And it means I can take full advantage of the UC hospitality. And the SFO Clubhouse. And the AMEX Centurion lounge!
